LEDpower+ Basic AA Battery Eliminator Kit - 1 Device
Note: There is a small variation in price depending upon the total number of batteries in the device as this affects the number of dummy batteries in the kit and the size of the power supply. Choose the number of batteries in the pull down menus.
LEDpower+ AA Battery Eliminator Kit for one (1) LED device. This kit is designed for use in any AA battery device with between 2 and 4 batteries. In checkout you can choose the number of batteries in the device. You can easily expand it by purchasing additional power injectors, dummy batteries, cables and expansion kits. You can also purchase the 2 LED and 4 LED kits. For example, the 4.5 or 4.8vdc power supply puts out 1000mAh. LED lanterns and candles use anywhere from 20ma to 100ma, though typically at the lower end. The power supply will officially light 6 devices but may light 12 or more.
The cables/connectors are 5.5mm x 2.1mm barrel plugs which is the same as those used for CCTV camera power supplies. Depending upon your placement of devices, it might make more sense to plug in power supplies near them rather than running all the cables from one power supply. Accessories and parts are also available separately.
The AA Kit for 1 Device includes the following: A kit with 1 dummy battery will have a Plug-in 3 vdc power supply. A kit with 2 dummy batteries will have a 4.5-4.8vdc power supply. A kit with 3 dummy batteries will have a 6 vdc power supply.
In addition to the power supply the kit includes 1 power injecter with 12" cable, 2 to 4 dummy batteries, and an instruction guide. The product includes a 90 day manufacturer's warranty. The product should work for many years and has been tested for many hundreds of hours. Appearance of power injectors and dummy batteries may vary.

Replacing AAA batteries gets to be rather expensive. Frankly, I like to have things setup in advance to impress when I go out in case I bring a date home. In the photo -- top left -- is a candle in a wrought iron holder. This a real candle but it is not safe it let it burn unattended nor a good idea near linen, etc. Thus, I used a thin hardwood dowel to poke a hole through the center of it. I soldered a flickering LED to a wire and fed it through. Thus, I turned the real candle into an LED Candle. (Click on the photo to see a larger version.)
In the support pages you will see that the wire is thin enough that you can close the battery compartment door over it. However, it is better to file a small notch into the edge where the wire comes out, which is why we include a small file. The printed instruction guide and support pages give detailed instructions. Exact appearance of power injector and dummy batteries may vary. Exact style of file will vary.
WARNING: We do not recommend using actual batteries in addition to the power injector or in place of the dummy batteries. Doing so voids the warranty and Blue Planet is not responsible for any hazards that may result. Dead batteries will not usually pass the current anyway rendering the system non-functional.
battery powered lanterns and candles running for hours is a sure way to run through lots of batteries. Usually when I come home some of the batteries have died and that rather ruins the effect. When I leave them off for a period of time, some of the batteries go dead anyway.
